Trend alert: Oversized Black Sunglasses

The rise of the oversized sunglasses

Oversized black sunglasses have been popular since Audrey Hepburn wore her big iconic Oliver Goldsmith cat eye frames in Breakfast at Tiffany’s in 1961. Since then, oversized black sunglasses have remained in high demand and grown more versatile.

Although the idea of wooden sunglasses wasn’t exactly new when we started our journey back in 2017, we did notice that no one was making oversized wooden sunglasses. KIBOKO and TEMBO soon became our top sellers inspired by memorable fashion moments from the past.

How to style

Just as with oversized clothing oversized sunglasses give off the same effect of a cool and relaxed look while still looking put together. The style provides more coverage and a bold silhouette guaranteed to turn heads. But how big is too big? We believe that there is no wrong answer when it comes to your personal style. However, if the bottom of the frames touch your cheek, or the tops completely cover your eyebrows, they may be too oversized.
